Palm Jebel
Palm Jebel, also known as Palm Jebel Ali, is one of the three artificial "palm trees" off the coast of Dubai - so one of those gigantic man-made island projects in the shape of palm trees, which - especially when seen from an aeroplane - look like nothing else in this world.
Jebel is the one furthest to the West - and what makes it in a way even more spectacular than the other two is the fact that it will be integrated into another, even larger project - the Waterfront of Dubai. This will be the largest man-made development in the whole world - and, of course, also a group of artificial islands.
Luckily for potential investors and buyers, the prices of real estate on Palm Jebel have recently fallen relatively sharply: by about 40 per cent! Of course, nobody expects them to stay so low for long - the experts are in fact quite unanimous on this issue. That means that the time for buying is right now - probably the situation will never again be as favourable for purchasing as it is now. So getting your own little piece of this artificially built island-paradise appears to be a smart move right now.
In Dubai, so many things were made by people. The wonderful thing about this is how authentic and real the city and the Emirate of Dubai nevertheless seem to be. In a way this proves that, yes, we the people can make and create the world based on our own ideas. It is not an empty dream.
